Build the form once. Collect the data where the work happens.
FormDragon is a form building and field data collection platform. Design a form in the browser, put it in the hands of the crew on their phones, and get structured, reviewable data back instead of photographs of paper.
Built for work that happens away from a desk
Inspections, surveys, audits, asset checks, safety walkarounds, environmental sampling. Anything where someone has to stand in front of the thing being recorded, and where the answer needs to arrive back as data you can query, approve and export.
- Someone builds the form
- An admin lays out fields, logic and validation in the web builder, then publishes it to the organization.
- The crew fills it in
- Collectors open their assigned forms and tasks on the mobile app and capture photos, locations, scans and signatures on the spot.
- The office gets the data
- Submissions land in the dashboard for review and approval, and flow onward through exports, documents and webhooks.
What you get
Everything below is in the product today.
Form builder
Drag fields into place and preview as you go. 28 field types, from plain text through photo, video, audio, signature, drawing, GPS, barcode and QR capture.Conditional logic
Rules that show, hide, require, validate or calculate. Fields appear when they are relevant and totals keep themselves up to date.JavaScript field scripts
When rules are not enough, write a snippet. Scripts compute a value, decide whether a field is shown, or reject bad input, and they evaluate locally rather than on a server.Repeatable sections
Capture a row per sample, per unit, per defect. Aggregate the rows back into the parent form with ROWSUM, ROWAVG, ROWMIN and ROWMAX.Choice lists
Keep sites, assets or part numbers in one shared list and reference it from any form. Edits are staged as a draft and published when you are ready.Tasks
Assign a set of forms to a person or a team, watch progress fill in, and let the work repeat on a schedule instead of re-creating it each time.Approval workflows
Route submissions through review before they count as final, with multi-step pipelines and a record of who approved what.Maps and analytics
Plot geolocated submissions on a map, dispatch work by drawing a polygon, and track completion rates field by field.Exports and documents
Pull data out as CSV, XLSX or JSON. Render a submission to PDF, or to your own document template when the output has to match a form your client already knows.Integrations
Webhooks on submission events, a Zapier connection, Google Sheets sync, and a REST API over your own data.Faster starts
Describe a form and have a first draft generated, import an existing XLSForm, or clone something you already built.Access control
Organizations, roles, custom permission policies, form and user groups, an audit trail, and encryption on the fields that need it.
A real app, not a web page in a shell
The companion app for iOS and Android is built for field conditions: camera, GPS, barcode and QR scanning, audio and signature capture, all handled by the device. Collectors open the forms and tasks assigned to them.
Field scripts evaluate on the phone rather than on a server, so calculations and validation behave the same way in the browser and out on site.
Your organization, your data
Every form, submission and file belongs to an organization, and access is enforced in the database rather than only in the user interface. Roles decide who can build, who can collect and who can approve, and custom policies cover the cases the four default roles do not.
Sensitive fields can be encrypted, and an audit trail records who did what.
Getting started
Create an account to set up an organization and build your first form. Every organization starts with 30 days free for up to five users; after that it is $125 per user per year. If you are weighing FormDragon up for a larger team, get in touch and we will talk through what you need.
